I never meant to build something that lasted 26 years. I just wanted to open a beautiful shop.

In 2000, I opened my boutique in Bowral, in the Southern Highlands, with a small, carefully chosen collection — garments with real fabric, quiet tailoring, and the kind of elegance that belongs to no single season. I chose only what I would wear myself. That never changed.

Over 26 years, I watched women come back. Not just for the clothing — for the feeling. The feeling of being taken seriously. Of choosing something made to last, from someone who means it.

This year, my daughter had her first baby. A little girl.

I held her for the first time and I understood — perhaps more clearly than I have ever understood anything — that it was time. Time to close this chapter and open the one I have been working toward without realising it. I want to be a grandmother. Fully. Without a boutique competing for my attention.
